Go for Dinner at Joel Robuchon
Joel Robuchon’s restaurant at the MGM Grand in Vegas is known to be incredibly difficult to get in to. It is the only restaurant in Nevada to have been awarded three Michelin stars, meaning you can be sure of a meal to remember.
You can enjoy a delicious 16-course menu in a stunning interior that simply can’t fail to impress, no matter who your date is with. It was designed to resemble a luxurious Art Deco townhouse complete with a beautiful garden terrace and marble floors. The restaurant has won several other awards so it is perhaps no surprise that the menu costs $425 per head.
Enjoy the Scenery with the Rail Explorer
You may feel that going out for dinner is too predictable and Michelin restaurants may well be beyond your budget. If you and your date both prefer something a bit more active, then why not enjoy beautiful views of sunset while pedalling through the desert.
The rail explorer Southwest Ramble is an exhilarating 4-mile downhill pedal powered ride that takes in views of the Nevada desert, the Eldorado Valley and the River Mountains. It includes a 30-minute break at a picnic site before you are taken back to the top of the hill in a historic train.
The journey starts just 20 minutes from the Las Vegas strip and it will only set you back around $42.50 per head, which is a true bargain for an evening neither of you are lucky to ever forget.
Experience a Spiegelworld Performance
If you and your date both enjoy immersive entertainment and you don’t think something a little risqué would be inappropriate, then considering going for a Spiegelworld performance.
They put on a number of different themed shows, each packed with amazing acrobatic feats that will astound you from beginning to end. You are unlikely to have seen anything like it ever before and it is guaranteed to be an evening that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
Try Ridiculously Expensive Cocktails
While this is likely to be beyond the means of many people, if you love cocktails and you truly want to impress, then you could spend as much as $5,000 on a single cocktail.
Served at the Wynn XS, The Five Star cocktail promises to be one of, if not the most, expensive drink you ever taste. The cocktail is prepared for you at the table in style. It contains a mixture of premium and rare spirits, including a herbal one that contains flecks of copper. The overall result is a sweet taste of gingerbread.
Of course, you are not just paying for the drink. You will also be treated to an impressive fire show as the drink is prepared, and while it may feel horrendously extravagant, that is a large part of what a trip to Las Vegas should be about.
Champagne, Cabaret, and a Hot Tub
If these three things sound appealing, then Las Vegas has the perfect solution. Las Vegas shows are known for being truly world class and those who enjoy cabaret regularly refer to Blanc de Blanc as the ultimate champagne cabaret show. If you then go for the VIP option, you will be able to enjoy the show while sipping champagne seated in a private hot tub, right in the middle of all the action. You can be sure that the drinks will flow for the duration of the show and there is no better seat in the house from which to enjoy the view.
Tour the Grand Canyon
The Las Vegas Strip can become a bit overwhelming and it certainly won’t be to everybody’s taste. Luckily, you can easily escape into nature and regardless of your feelings towards the Strip, it is always worth making the effort to see the natural beautify of the Grand Canyon.
However, if you really want to impress your date, then why not arrange for a private tour. You will be collected in a luxury limo and driven to the airport. Then you will be able to board a private jet or helicopter and will be treated to amazing views for an hour. The date doesn’t end there, you will then be served a luxury picnic and be shown around by your own private tour guide.
This experience will cost you in the region of $5,300 (the cost of one cocktail at Wynn XS), but there are of course cheaper options and the views will be no less impressive.
Experience the Top Of The World
Many people like the idea of proposing in Las Vegas, others think it is the ultimately in cheese and bad taste. If you fall into the first group, then one of the best spots to do so is the Top of the World Restaurant, and if you fall into the second or you simply are not yet ready to propose, then it is still a fantastic venue for a meal.
The Top of the World Restaurant is located more than 800ft above ground in The STRAT Hotel. It offers diners stunning panoramic views that go for miles and you won’t even need to leave your seat to enjoy them as the restaurant rotates a full 360-degrees every 80 minutes.
Hire a Flash Mob
Flash mobs are always a lot of fun and because it is Vegas, you can of course hire your own one to surprise your date and show them how much you care. You can choose where the flash mob takes place, so it doesn’t have to be particularly public if you don’t want to draw too much attention to yourself. However, if you don’t mind being in the centre of things then the Strip has some amazing locations, such as the famous Bellagio fountains.
Takeover the Bellagio Fountains
This option really will set you back a bit of money, but it is truly unique. The Bellagio fountains are famous across the round and all visitors to Vegas make the time to go and watch the show. It is absolutely stunning. However, not many people realise that you can actually take control of the fountains and be the person to press the button and start the show.
The best place to see the fountains is the Hyde Bellagio, a nightclub located inside the hotel. For just $250,000, you will be able to choose the music, decide when the show starts, and then start the process off. You will also be treated to a huge 3-foot bottle of Jay Z’s Ace of Spades champagne brought to you by a full team of security guards.
Enjoy a Luxury Spa
Some time in a luxury spa is enough to make anyone feel pampered, special and relaxed. There is no shortage of options in Vegas but you may want to consider the Mandarin Oriental’s spa. It costs $700 per person and you and your date will enjoy a three-and-a-half hour Qi Balancing Journey. Alternatively, for $620 there is a four-hand body massage that promises to remove any trace of stress and leave you both completely relaxed and calm.
Many of the above options are far too pricey for most of us. However, one of the great things about Vegas is that you can find something for almost every budget. Using these as a starting point, you are sure to find plenty of options for a truly memorable date.
